ST60

Siemens st60 January 2004, Siemens launched ST60, an upgrade to Siemens ST55. The small (87grams) ST60, with its sleek lines and lustrous metallic finish gives an elegant look. Most of the area is occupied by the TFT screen, so there is low amount of space left for the keypad. Small keyboard size and keys placement can be considered as a disadvantage.

Main Features

Like many other cell phones, Siemens ST60 has been introduced as a media phone. The cell phone not only takes pictures in still mode with 4x digital zoom, but also captures videos and plays them. Videos can also be sent via MMS. One thing to keep in mind that almost all providers that support MMS, there is some maximum size defined for the MMS message. You can’t send large resolution pictures, long sound or video recordings via MMS. But, still this feature is worth discussing and useful. The memory pool has been increased to 7Mb which should be there in a multimedia phone. Siemens ST60 supports 40 polyphonic and WAV format ringtones. Java MIDP 2.0 support has been added as an update from ST55. An email client is also present in the cell phone; not a very important feature of such class phone, but still can be a plus point.

Descripancies

One of the most important feature missing in the Siemens ST60 cell phone is infra red and Bluetooth. In my opinion, atleast one has to be there, preferably Infra red.

Conclusion

The overall impression of the phone is pleasant; TFT screen, multimedia features. I cant say that there is something really new introduced in the cell phone. All the features present are required and are in demand these days; but present in many other cell phones too. So, I must say that Siemens ST60 It doesn’t belong to any mass-consuming category.
