S65

siemens s65 At CeBit 2004, Siemens displayed another cell phone based on the same new 65 platform i.e. S65. This set is an update and will replace Siemens s65. Sometimes calling it an updating is wrong because most of the features are either new or updated a lot.

External features

The screen has improved a lot. Its TFT 65k color and of 13 x 176 pixels. Siemens has added camera and video capabilities to the phone as in other new handsets. 11 Mb built in memory and MMC card expansion slot is a huge plus point in Siemens s65. A t 32 Mb memory card is also present in a standard package. This time the camera resolution goes to megapixels i.e. 1.3 MP with 5x digital zoom.

Other Features

Bluetooth and IrDa are there providing flexibility in connectivity. Java MIDP 2.0 is supported and complete MMS features are there such as sending video clips. Furthermore, its compatible with all new accessories provided by Siemens. Such as attachable flash, Bluetooth car kit, Bluetooth headset etc.

Conclusion

Siemens s65 is similar to the other cell phone released at CeBit by Siemens; such as CX65. The main difference comes up in expandable memory and 1.3 MP camera. It is said that Siemens usually jumps to new technologies and latest standards a bit late. For example, their first color phone S55, first smartphone SX1 was released after when every other released theirs. Now the megapixel cameraphones are on the way in cellular phone market, and it doesn’t seem that Siemens is that much late in this party. So here they are with the S65, a new 1.3megapixel capable cameraphone with features that you could hope for. It will be good if Siemens don’t take a lot of time to officially release the cell phone in the market. Siemens s65 is expected to release in the third quarter of year 2004.
